Is Your Business Serving the Residents of Colorado Springs?
Then We Need to Talk!
Do you know a business serving the residents of Colorado Springs?
In our latest episode of the Good Neighbor Podcast, we had the privilege of speaking with Jennifer Kelly, the founder of Divine Insight Therapy in downtown Colorado Springs. Jennifer offers a unique blend of healing modalities that address both physical and spiritual aspects of wellbeing, creating a holistic approach to therapy that has transformed many lives—including her own.
At the core of Jennifer's practice is somatic processing, also known as somatic trauma resolution therapy. As she eloquently describes it, this is essentially "talk therapy for your body and nervous system." This powerful approach helps clients connect with their bodies, process physical trauma, and address issues ranging from eating disorders to anxiety and depression. What makes this approach particularly effective is its focus on bringing awareness back to bodily sensations and signals that most of us typically ignore. Jennifer emphasizes that we tend to only notice our bodies when things are "really right or really wrong," missing the vital information and nuanced signals our bodies constantly provide. Through somatic processing, clients learn tools and techniques to inhabit their bodies more fully and utilize this awareness in their healing journey.
Beyond individual therapy, Jennifer leads a monthly gathering called the Sacred Circle, which has been running for six years. This community-centered approach to healing focuses on self-love—not the commercialized version that emphasizes treating yourself to luxuries, but the deeper practice of self-acceptance and refusing to engage in self-abandoning behaviors. Jennifer references the fascinating research of Candice Pert, who discovered a neuropeptide called VIP that our bodies only produce when experiencing self-love, suggesting we are biologically designed for this practice. The Sacred Circle creates a supportive community where people can explore and deepen their self-love journey together, reinforcing Jennifer's belief that "we heal better when we're in community."
What truly sets Jennifer's practice apart is her incorporation of esoteric therapies. Having experienced her first ghostly encounter at age four, Jennifer brings psychic abilities and divinatory tools into her work when clients are interested. These services range from dream interpretation and tarot readings to energetic clearings and even helping clients with spiritual disturbances in their homes. Jennifer emphasizes that she only offers these services to clients who specifically request them, maintaining clear boundaries and respecting each individual's comfort level and beliefs.
Jennifer's path to becoming a therapist emerged from her own healing journey. After recovering from anorexia over two decades ago, she found that many practitioners didn't truly understand disordered eating, which led her to essentially heal herself. This experience inspired her to become the healer she needed back then, embodying her mantra of healing the planet "one person at a time." Her personal experiences with chronic pain—including a spinal condition, chronic migraines, and fibromyalgia—further informed her approach to therapy. Through her own somatic training, she experienced dramatic improvements in her health conditions, transforming from someone who once relied on mobility devices and contemplated ending her life to a vibrant practitioner helping others find their path to wellness.
As Jennifer prepares to transition her business name to Sacred Alchemy Therapy and reclaim her maiden name later this year, her commitment to client-centered care remains unwavering. She emphasizes that she never forces clients to engage with services they're not interested in—"I'm never going to force them to order something they're not hungry for." This respect for client autonomy, combined with her diverse skill set and personal healing journey, makes Jennifer Kelly a unique and valuable resource in the Colorado Springs community for anyone seeking a more connected, embodied approach to healing.
