Is Your Business Serving the Residents of Colorado Springs?
Then We Need to Talk!
Do you know a business serving the residents of Colorado Springs?
Professional organizing is an industry that continues to grow in popularity, especially as our lives become increasingly busy and complicated. In a recent episode of the Good Neighbor Podcast, host Tony Hills interviewed Tami Gale, founder of Gale Force Organizers, a full-service organizing business serving El Paso and Teller counties in Colorado. Tami's business focuses on simplifying lives by improving the functionality of spaces, transforming homes and offices into inviting, organized, stress-free, and manageable environments.
What makes Tami's background particularly interesting is her extensive experience with transitions. As a Navy spouse who has moved 31 times throughout her adult life, and whose lead organizer is a retired Army officer, Tami understands the challenges of organizing and reorganizing spaces better than most. This military background provided her with a unique skill set that she now brings to her clients. Additionally, Tami's experience managing the care of her parents and mother-in-law highlighted significant gaps in services available for seniors, particularly during stressful transitions like moving into assisted living or memory care facilities. These personal experiences ultimately convinced her to leave corporate America and start Gale Force Organizers three years ago.
During the interview, Tami addressed several common misconceptions about professional organizing services. Perhaps the most prevalent myth is that organizers simply come to your home and throw away your belongings. Tami emphasized that this couldn't be further from the truth. Professional organizers like those at Gale Force only help clients declutter items that no longer serve them, with the intention of creating space for treasured possessions. Another misconception is that organizing services are prohibitively expensive. While Tami acknowledges that professional organizers' time is valuable, she suggests that people should view organizing services as they would any other professional service, similar to hiring someone to cut hair or maintain a lawn – especially for those with busy schedules who simply don't have the time to organize themselves.
Gale Force Organizers serves four primary customer segments: seniors transitioning or rightsizing their living arrangements, families living in older homes that no longer function for their current lifestyle, empty nesters reclaiming rooms for new purposes, and small businesses needing help with inventory control and paper management. What unifies these diverse groups is a common thread of feeling stressed and time-constrained. To attract these customers, Tami focuses on community involvement, particularly within the senior community through memberships in the Senior Resource Council and Senior Advocates Collaborative. The company also leverages professional affiliations with organizations like the National Association of Productivity and Organizing (NAPO) and Home Transition Pros, while maintaining an active presence on social media platforms to share organizing tips and inspiration.
When not helping others organize their spaces, Tami enjoys traveling—a passion developed during her husband's Navy career when they spent approximately ten years overseas. Currently, they're focusing on exploring the United States, with an upcoming 14-day Southeastern road trip planned. Living in Colorado, they're also outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate the natural beauty surrounding them. In her downtime, Tami enjoys escaping into a good mystery or thriller. The key message Tami wants listeners to remember is that organizing doesn't necessarily come naturally to everyone, and that's perfectly okay. Professional organizers like those at Gale Force exist to help people live simpler lives in spaces that function for how they live today. With the industry growing, especially in the Colorado Springs area, there are organizers who specialize in almost every aspect of life organization, ready to provide expertise for those who don't have the time or inclination to tackle organizing projects themselves.
